MY Black Panther

This morning, Chadwick Boseman visited me in my dream.

I had awakened at 4:00 a.m. and noticed that my son hadn’t made it home from work yet. But, when I looked out of the window, he was downstairs. After he walked into the house, I couldn’t comfortably doze off, so I begin to pray for rest to come and that this nagging migraine would dissipate. My brain was wiggling for over an hour as I determinedly focused on specific scriptures to guide me back to sleep.

At 5:45 a.m., I awakened again because my other son was leaving the house to go to the gym. Once more, I began to pray because I wanted/needed sleep and rest. As I relaxed, Chadwick Boseman appeared to me in my dream. He had an authentic soul full of tender compassion. His familial spirit was heartwarming. While we sat at the table, he LISTENED intently to my heart’s desire, gave me sound wisdom, and rubbed my ‘feet.’ SELAH! He confirmed to me: PURSUE and CONQUER! THIS…this sounds like the Holy Ghost to me!

While at the table, a man came into the house seeking Chadwick’s help. The man tried to manipulate Chadwick, but Chadwick recognized the spirit and told the man, “I know that you come lying, but had you come in the right spirit, I would have helped you.” While he was speaking, Chadwick laid his right hand on that man’s back, and the man repented; he was sent away and told to come again when his heart was right. The man left with no hatred, no bickering; he respected Mr. Boseman and did just as he instructed to do. SELAH! When Chadwick came back to the table, his wife and I had been chatting and laughing, and she said it was time to go to the yard.

Those who know me know that I don’t walk outside barefoot, but this time – this time, I jumped up and cheerfully followed her outdoors. Then, I saw her, a (Chadwick’s) beautiful little girl riding a tricycle. She had no concerns, was riding in freedom, enjoying the deserts of her father’s labor provisions. SELAH! His house sat behind a gate, the land was spacious, and I noticed that the house had no windows, only the window frames. There were no worries about people breaking in because people knew they were already welcome. SELAH! My LORD of Mercy!!!

When I got to the end of the house, there was a maze of grass, and his wife said, “You need shoes, Angela.” And Chadwick, running up behind me, gearing up in a BREASTPLATE and a HELMET (face to the floor – good Jesus!), said, “Angi, you don’t have your shoes on! You can’t GO without your shoes!” As he was speaking, I was standing at the edge of the grass but wouldn’t step in the grass because – I HAD NO SHOES! My LORD of Mercy!!!

He spoke into my left ear, and I heard him as if I were awake, “You may fall off the path, but the detour will still get you to where you’re going.” At that moment, as he was speaking in my ear, I was traveling in unfamiliar territory. There was a man in the back seat, passenger side, in-and-out-of consciousness. The car was accelerating on its own, and I felt like I was losing control. I was on a bridge and sharply veered to the right, crashing through a RAIL – a BARRIER. When I landed, I landed on rocky terrain. But, the vehicle was heavy-duty, and the path I was on did, precisely, what Chadwick said, “…still got me to where I was going.”

There is quite a bit of revelation to this I see and hear: I had no shoes of preparation to PURSUE and CONQUER! This victorious posture requires me to BE PREPARED – at all times. I can’t be distracted by those who are behind me and unconsciousness; my focus must remain on what is in front of me. My BREAKTHROUGH will not kill me. SELAH! I must TURN NORTHWARD (keep looking ahead; come on up a little bit higher), Kadimah march.
